Art Cloud Reviews and Product Details

What started as a nonprofit arts organization turned into a rapidly growing art management platform. Hoping to inspire positive social change by bringing attention to fine arts, ArtCloud was created to meet the need for better gallery software.

This functional software with numerous features targeted specifically to art galleries (although not limited to and could be used successfully by boutique owners), counts hundreds of satisfied users.

Based on several reviews, this comprehensive software offers everything you would need to run an art gallery. Gallery operations allow users to create inventory records including photos of original artworks, descriptions, costs and other information. Speaking of presenting artworks most appealingly, ArtCloud enables you to create and manage exhibitions by publishing show dates and press announcements on ArtCloud Marketplace or an integrated website.

ArtCloud also provides you with several ways to engage with art buyers, collectors and other clients with Google/Office 365 integration, contact records, and purchase history.

To promote and share artwork details, ArtCloud has customized templates for Price Lists, Wall Tags, Tear Sheets and more. You can design email campaigns for targeted audiences directly from the database of inventory.

ArtCloud’s analytic features provide sales performance, taxes, top-selling artists and other reports that could be easily exported to spreadsheet, PDF or Quickbooks.

Besides easily managing sales and inventory, another ArtCloud’s prominent feature. Integrated consignment contracts, terms for each artist, payments and invoice history ensure professional and efficient handling of the relationship between an artist and a gallery.

What our experts think

Pros:

  • Easy to navigate.

Users praise ArtCloud’s website builder: the navigation is straightforward to manage. They also say that since creating a website with ArtCloud, entering and managing information like applications, spreadsheets and documents became a much quicker process.

  • Comprehensive inventory management.

“They also have an inventory manager complete with payment/social media integration, email campaigns, analytics, invoice creation and much more,” says another user.

Someone who is a singular artist says that the package is enough to start a business. (The package includes up to 500 works, inventory control and website integration.) “They often host meetings for artists about business and software use which are live but can be viewed later. They don’t take a commission on any sale,” says the same artist.

  • Efficient customer service.

A small, fairly new gallery in San Francisco noted that their work has become much easier to manage with ArtCloud. Due to helpful customer service and inventory and invoicing management, they were able to reduce the amount of manual work.

Many users say that the best advantage of ArtCloud is the ability to upload images which would show every painting and sculpture as close to in-person .. as possible. They say the ease of uploading and keeping track of inventory is also highly appreciated.

Cons:

  • Although there are barely any complaints about ArtCloud, based on one review, users are not able to edit their website mobile pages separate from the web version.
  • Another complaint was about the lack of classification when selling products. Since ArtCloud only allows ‘artwork’ classification, those users who produce and sell tickets to such events as concerts, workshops and retreats say that when all those events fall under the ‘artwork’ category, customers find it confusing.
  • Several users noted that “when new updates are implemented, it adds to the amount of clicks and extra pages to sort through.” In their opinion, some procedures were straightforward and easier to work with before the upgrade.
