TunnelBear is a Canadian VPN service based in Toronto. The VPN is available on multiple platforms, including Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices. Your internet connection is secured by AES 256-bit encryption, and your IP address is switched to the country of your choosing. If you lose your Wi-Fi connection, VigilantBear blocks unsecured traffic until the connection is re-established. The GhostBear feature makes your VPN-encrypted data less detectable to governments, businesses, and ISPs. To connect to a TunnelBear VPN server, click the on/off tap and select a country from the drop-down menu. Many businesses trust TunnelBear to:
- Secure the internet for remote workers or travelling employees.
- Gather competitive intelligence.
- Accessing geo-restricted business tools.
TunnelBear is the only VPN in the world to publish the results of independent security audits.
There are three plans with TunnelBear. The first is a Free plan, which provides you with the basic features of the VPN. The plan also has a 500 MB data limit for browsing. Once you exceed the limit, you have to pay for additional data. The Unlimited plan removes the limits for data browsing and the number of protected devices. You can either pay per month, per year, or every three years. The three-year payment option has the lowest price ($3.33 per month). The Teams plan is designed for businesses securing two or more users. The price increases with the number of users secured.

TunnelBear reviews
One positive of TunnelBear is its affordability. The priced plans start at $3.33 and $5.75 per month; these prices are much lower than many VPNs. The free plan is also a nice option for people on a tight budget. TunnelBear is also user-friendly. It takes less than five minutes to set up and starting the VPN takes 1-2 clicks. The interface is user-friendly as well. It makes it easy to view and connect to TunnelBear’s VPN servers. Thanks to its simplicity, TunnelBear is a good option for people who are new to VPNs. Users have also said that TunnelBear provided a high level of protection. Lastly, TunnelBear is a transparent and trustworthy VPN provider due to the self-publishing of its security audits.
A downside of TunnelBear is it has a low number of VPN server locations. In total, TunnelBear is supported in 47 countries, with multiple cities only in the United States and Canada. In comparison, ExpressVPN has servers in 94 countries and in multiple cities. The Free plan, while it adds affordability, still has a 500 MB data limit which can be used up quickly. Some of the features are not available across all devices. For example, split tunnelling is only available for Android and iOS devices. Because of its limitations, experienced users may find TunnelBear lacking.
